USB Safely Remove is a utility for effortless and speedy disconnection of any removable devices. Not only does it save time, but it ensures that all data remains on a device when it is unplugged. Safely Remove is a system utility designed for quick and safely stopping USB Flash Drives connected to your computer. With this utility you can safely stop and remove USB Flash Drives much faster then using "Safely remove hardware"" icon in the system tray.
Features:
- Unlimited number of processes to launch
You may specify to launch any number of processes for specified event. For example you may setup launching a backup of the drive before stopping and following disomounting of a TrueCrypt volume
- Optional command line parameters
You may pass such device parameters as drive letter, drive label, device PNP name into the process command line via parameter templates (e.g. this command line will browse a drive in Explorer on device connection: explorer.exe %DriveLetter%)
- New events to launch programs
Now programs can be launched after device plugging, before device stopping, after device stopping and after device removing
- Global autorun
You can setup a program to be launched not only for certain device, but for all hotplug devices in the system

Fixing Drive Letter For A Device
Windows may assign different drive letters to a certain device, so you are not sure what drive letter will have your flash drive on this connection. Usually it's a bit annoying but do not prevent you working. The problem will arise when you need to start non-portable applications from the flash drive or you wish to ask a desktop application to store data to your external drive. In this case the device must have a fixed drive letter that aren't changed amongst diferent connections.
USB Safely Remove 4.2 resolves that problem allowing you to fix drive letter to a device. Just open your device properties, switch "Drive properties" tab, choose required drive letter and check "Fix drive letter". Starting from this moment your device will always stay with this drive letter and no one of other devices will occupy this letter even when your device is not connected.
One-click "Scan For Hardware Changes"
USB Safely Remove get on well not only with USB drives, but with SATA (eSATA) devices as well. However some eSATA drives cannot be autodetected by Windows on connection. You have to run "Scan For Hardware Changes" from Windows Device Manager in order to see your drive in Explorer. You know it's a boring to do many clicks in order to get to Device Manager so we added this ability to the quick stop menu.
Stop All Devices At Once
If you are in a hurry and\or need to disconnect all external drives at once to go out you will find this feature extremelly useful. Instead of clicking several times to the menu to stop devices you can press once button "Stop all" and the program will stop all the visible devices on the stopping menu.
Windows 7 Full Compatibility
We have conducted extensive testing of the program under the newest version of Windows and now you can get benefit from using USB Safely Remove under both Windows 7 64 and 32-bit versions.
Minor But Useful Improvements
Displaying taskbar button for the most windows
You can optionally show number of devices in the tray icon (see Options -> Look and Feel)
The tray icon became gray if there are no devices to stop
Hotkey for stopping the device can return it back
Bug Fixes
The program seriously slowed down Windows XP 64 bit system startup
Fixed some bugs of autorun feature
PNG images were loosing alpha-channel when were loaded as device images
And some other minor bugs...
